A trade only treatments company which was launched in the year the first female Prime Minister in Britain took office is celebrating 30 years of success.
Coventry-based Forté Lubricants – the UK’s leading trade only treatments company – has continued to meet fresh challenges in the motor industry over the last three decades and has been at the forefront of safeguarding the interests and reputations of thousands of garages when dealing with their customers.
In 2006, Forté launched the Good Garage Scheme, a self-regulatory organisation whose members adhere to a Code of Conduct and offer an Industry Standard Service. From a standing start, the Good Garage Scheme has grown to over 2600 independent member garages across the UK.
Well known for its engine treatments, Forté’s achievements have been driven by its innovation in producing solutions for engine contamination caused by the advent of unleaded fuel, low sulphur diesel and catalytic converters. The company’s range of 16 engine and transmission treatments have consistently and quickly eliminated engine contamination problems. Products like Advanced Formula Motor Flush, Diesel Treatment, Gas Treatment and Oil System Protector are no longer used just for problem solving but have become standard for routine vehicle servicing.
Rachel Greasby, Marketing Director of Forté said: “The introduction of emission testing and the tightening up of those processes over the years has actually put Forté Lubricants in a very strong position. Our motor treatments are specifically designed to reduce engine emissions so in that respect the industry has turned more towards what we do rather than us having to adjust what we do to cater for the industry’s needs.
“For environmental reasons the motor industry has had to change which is a good thing as we have always been well positioned to accommodate those changes. We’ve been fortunate to be right on the button all the time.”
Today, Forté operates throughout the UK with a regional network of around 100 sales agents in 11 regions and works with around 9,000 independent garages, workshops and franchised dealers.
